Still One Bad Little Dude: Hoon Of The Day Update [Offbeat News]

We all agreed Vern from the Biker Boyz Hoon of the Day last week was a major tool, but now we've found he's also a sex offender. Like we didn't see that coming?

You see, our boy Vernon R. Ward, A.K.A Shorty Ward, really is a ‘bad little dude’ as is evidenced by his rap sheet from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement – Sexual Offender/Predator list which you can see below. I guess this is just the sort of thing that happens when you’re this badass. (Hat tip to Lionel!)

The 2009 Suzuki Equator - A Truck? Are They Serious?

Known for their motorcycles, Suzuki is making a move of questionable wisdom towards machinery on the other side of the towing hitch with a mid-size pick-up truck, the Suzuki Equator.

Roughly equal in dimensions to the Nissan Frontier, the Equator will be offered with a 2.5-L V6 engine and either 4×2 or 4×4 drive. Standard features and specifications are forward-thinking but not particularly noteworthy in comparison to other automotive advancements; 152 or 261-horsepower (depending on the drivetrain), platinum-tipped sparked plugs, Induction Control System, electronic rear-locking differential, electronic brake force distribution, and speed-sensitive power rack-and-pinion steering. Entertainment options include an AM/FM/6CD Changer, XM radio, and an iPod auxiliary jack – run of the mill interior accessories for later model vehicles.

As a passenger vehicle, the Suzuki Equator is largely unremarkable. As a towing vehicle, however, the Equator posses an incredible amount of strength for such a relatively small truck - 6,300lb towing capacity and a max payload of 1, 837lbs. Although obviously adept at maximizing space and power, Suzuki’s biggest hurdle will be successfully maneuvering the Equator through the current energy crisis and subsequent decreasing popularity of trucks and SUV’s. Perhaps in anticipation of this challenge, Suzuki appears to have skimped on comfort and capitalized on function, creating the 2009 Equator solely with the “track day” in mind
